Transfer from your hotel to our All Lao Elephant Camp |

Arrive at our Elephant Camp and check into our Mahout Eco Lodge. |

Register and receive a mahout uniform. Then begin your elephant trek into the rain forest and onwards to the Nam Khan River. |

Lao-style lunch at our elephant camp restaurant. |
13:00 |
Learn about elephant background, information and the mahout’s verbal and physical ‘commands’. Meet your elephant’s mahout. Then learn how to secure the ‘howdah’ on the elephant’s back, how you should sit on it’s back and neck, and how to direct or control your elephant. Then practice your knowledge and experience with our baby and younger elephants. |
14:30 |
Visit local villages and visit Henry Mohout’s grave site. Mohout, a Frenchman, ‘rediscovered’ Angkor Wat. |
15: 00 |
Enjoy swimming or tubing on the scenic Nam Khan River |
16: 30 |
Drive’ your elephant, returning it to his sleeping place in the rain forest and enjoy activities with your mahout guide. |
17: 30 |
Relax and enjoy your free time. |

Lao-style dinner and overnight at our Mahout Eco Lodge. |
Day2 |

06:00 |
Wake up to retrieve your elephant from the rain forest where it sleeps at night. |
07:40 |
Setup the elephant’s howdah and ride it back to our elephant camp where you will help feed the elephant its breakfast. |
08:10 |
Breakfast served to you at our All Lao Elephant Camp Restaurant. |
09:00 |
Take your elephant for a ride on your own, riding on it’s neck and practice giving it commands. Are you a good mahout? Is your elephant following your directions? Your mahout will accompany you by foot to insure safety and control. |
12:00 |
Direct your elephant to the Nam Khan River for its bath. |
12:10 |
Lunch is served at our elephant camp restaurant. |
13:30 |
You serve your elephant its lunch of various grasses and elephant food to make sure its feed. |
15:30 |
Opportunity to practice your control of the elephant further with commands by riding it into the rain forest for approximately 1.5 hours. |
17:00 |
Return to the Mahout Eco Lodge |
18:00 |
Dinner is served at our Lodge’s restaurant.. |
19:00 |
More education on elephants and the life of a mahout. |
20:00 |
Free time to relax and enjoy life along the riverbank |
Day3 |

06:30 |
Retrieve your elephant from the rain forest and direct it to the Nam Khan for a bath which you participate in. |
07:40 |
Ride your elephant back to our camp. Then experience feeding your elephant its grass diet and food. |
08: 10 |
After having your breakfast, and subject to your interest CHOOSE between a hill-tribe’s trek to a Khamu or Hmong village, OR kayaking or bamboo rafting OR visiting Tad Sae Waterfall. |
16:00 |
Transfer back to your hotel You may drop in to our office on Sisavangvong Road (on the main street a couple shops from the National Museum) to pickup your mahout certificate. Please bring a small photo of yourself , such as a passport photo, for the certificate |
